Don't need a website?
By admin on Aug 6, 2011 | In Business Models
There are many out there who will tell you that you don't need a website to make money on line.
This is not entirely wrong. What will you need to be able to make money without a website? Well there were, and may still be, opportunities out there that help you build a list through the owner's website, or a cloned version of it, however the owners of these sites usually maintain control of these lists. You and those you get to join your down-line become an integral part of the owner's down-line. The owner gets to email and market to the whole of the list while you for your efforts can only email and market to those in your down-line. If you decide not to continue with one of these opportunities you, more often than not, loose your list.
This then suggests that you need your own list and you need to be in total control of that list.
There are other ways to make money on-line without having your own website. There are many programs and products out there that owners' allow you to sell as an affiliate seller. As an affiliate seller you have to meet all of your own costs involved in making those sales. As an inducement for you as an affiliate, to make sales the owner will give you a % of the sale. Don't ever forget that it is this % of the selling price that is your income from an affiliate sale. There will always be a % of your overhead costs that have to be attributed to the sales you make. So your overheads will cover the cost of your access to the internet and computer equipment etc. Now some of you will be prepared to accept those overhead costs as something you would be spending anyway.
Having said that there may be expenses that cannot be absorbed in that way. Most systems that work without a website or a list require you to advertise. There are free advertising systems but you must remember that if they were really effective they wouldn't be free. I'll let you ponder that statement "if they were really effective they wouldn't be free".
The most often used system for advertising affiliate products is Google's Adwords. The advertiser sets up a text or even an image advertisement and selects Keyword/s or key phrases where he wants the advertisement to appear. In other words when someone searches for a term (known as Keyword/s or Key phrases) Google opens a page of relevant information and shows the advertiser's advertisement on the right or above the results. If some one clicks on the ad then the advertiser will pay google for the traffic. Remember that not everyone that clicks on an ad will purchase. So the advertiser will need to deduct the total cost of the click through s from the total income from sales before he makes any profit. There are other forms of advertising that can be used to make sales. With any form of paid advertising the advertiser needs to keep a close watch and be sure that he is actually making profit from his advertising campaigns instead of just pouring money into a very deep abyss.
Unless you are paying a mentor with a good reputation a lot of money then these campaigns are usually hit and miss.
So you really do need to thoroughly examine any opportunity that suggests that you don't need a website to make money on-line very closely and make your own decision. I know which way I wouldn't go.
Hoping you find my information useful.
